Last Friday Room 3, 4, 7 and 10 students headed down to the beach to collect seaweed. Bags and buckets were filled with lots of seaweed found straight out from the front of the school at Wainui Beach. Students did well lugging heavy bags back across the road to be stored at the school.
On Wednesday Room 4 students put this seaweed around the school's fruit trees. We made sure we kept it clear from around the tree trunks but still near the tree. It will help keep moisture around the roots on long hot days while also providing excellent nutrients for the trees.
We can't wait for our fruit trees to start growing fruit!
